Day 21 (Day 17 since testimony began, Day 3 of deliberations) at the Danny Masterson retrial
After this morning's excitement when videos were played back for the jury, we settled back into a quiet routine. Just a few of us reporters and otherwise just the bailiff and clerk.
11:37 am, two buzzes from the jury.
The clerk and bailiff go back to the jury room, return a few moments later.
We ask what it's about. We're told the jury has another question, but the clerk wants to notify the judge and attorneys before he can say anything about it.
Then, as the noon hour approaches, we ask the clerk again what's going on.
He says something about how we won't know the question until they can handle it on the record.
After the lunch break, he tells us that whatever the question was, it's been taken care of, and now the jury is deliberating again.
We won't know what the question was until the next time Judge Olmedo is on the record.
So we continue to wait.
And wait.
3:40 pm: And that's it for the day. The jury goes home for the weekend a little early, and we'll be coming back Monday to resume deliberations.
We're hearing from a lot of people about whether the question that was asked (about the Jane Doe 3 video) or the length of time tells us what's going on in the jury room.
The truth is, we really don't know. They might be close to verdicts, or close to a deadlock, and we won't know until they say something to the judge.
But hey, the Underground Bunker rolls on, and we have a couple of really great items planned for you to get you through the weekend and back to the courthouse.

That’s for your resilient dedication to the trial. Wait wait wait has got to be tough. I keep checking my phone every few minutes to see if there’s a verdict yet. Gawd this is awful waiting. The jury off for the weekend opens up opportunities for them to be approached, swayed, tampered with. Ugh.
Those poor ladies.
