An OT Scientologist is in Pinellas County Jail for a truly awful reason
On November 13, WFLA-TV reported that a 57-year-old Clearwater, Florida man named Aaron Matthes had been arrested for SA of a child less than 12 years old, with more than 30 incidents stretching over a year.
According to court records, Matthes is facing multiple felony counts of battery of a child that carry possible mandatory life sentences, and he is currently in custody at the Pinellas County Jail. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
We received a tip from a friend of the family that Matthes is the same Aaron Matthes listed in Scientology publications going back almost 20 years.
Originally from the Bay Area, Matthes got a bachelor’s degree at San Francisco State University in 1996 and then an MBA at Golden Gate University in 2001.
The family friend says that Matthes was associated with Scientology’s Stevens Creek “org” before he moved to Clearwater, as so many Scientologists do, in 2010. Clearwater is home to Scientology’s “Flag Land Base,” which is said to be the “mecca” for technical perfection, and where wealthy Scientologists from around the world come to complete the most expensive upper level courses and auditing levels.
Most recently, Matthes was working in Tampa as an Oracle EBS Developer for Hillsborough County, which has put him on administrative leave while it reviews his charges, according to WFLA-TV.
According to Scientology publications cited at Kristi Wachter’s helpful database, Matthes completed the OT 1 auditing level in 2020, and he also completed the three very expensive L Rundowns during his career as a Scientologist.
We will remind readers that according to Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, every human being is actually trillions of years old, and over that many lifetimes has committed every horrific crime possible, including the SA homicide of children, which Hubbard spells out in awful detail in a truly disgusting 1952 lecture which technical expert Sunny Pereira helped us decode.
We wrote to Karin Pouw, Scientology’s international spokeswoman, asking if the church had any statement about an OT Scientologist like Matthes being accused of such heinous crimes.
We’ll let you know if she gets back to us.
Matthes next has a hearing in court scheduled for December 16.
Babywatch, day thirteen: Lisa McPherson in Room 174
Heather Hoff remembered that things changed on Friday, December 1, 1995 because Lisa McPherson had begun to shit her bed.
Heather had been doing shifts in the caretaking of Lisa for several days, and had reported that Lisa had been very active and sometimes violent. But thirteen days into Lisa’s confinement, she began to undergo a transformation.
Janis Johnson, who was overseeing the other caretakers, also noticed it. After almost two weeks of eating almost nothing, Lisa McPherson was finally beginning to look different to her caretakers.
“I noticed that, you know, she was looking thinner to me. She was wearing like a tank top and shorts. And she looked noticeably thinner to me. And I said whoa, you know. But she was a lot calmer at that point,” Janis said about that Friday.
Calmer, and incontinent.
As Friday began, after midnight, Rita Boykin was trying to get Lisa to consume more valerian root capsules to make her drowsy. To get them into her, Rita came up with a concoction of orange juice, mashed banana, and a strawberry protein drink. She also noted that she needed to get a quart of water into Lisa to make up for how little fluid she’d been getting.
By five in the morning, Rita noted that she’d managed to get three of the valerian root capsules into Lisa.
“She will appear to be very cooperative — hold her mouth open, make eye contact, as if she is there, then close the back of her throat and not swallow,” Rita wrote in her report of the day. “Her voice becomes nasal and she mutters rather than pronounces her words properly. My idea of closing her nose so she has to swallow so she can breathe through her mouth is only marginally successful. She either swallows and breathes or she lets everything in her mouth come out.”
Like Heather, Rita noted that Lisa was urinating and defecating in her bed, and had to be cleaned multiple times. But in the morning, Lisa was noticeably stronger, she noted. Lisa was back to kicking things.
Rita complained that when Lisa became violent, another caretaker, Sylvia DeLavega, had gone “solid” — froze, and then sat in a corner and cried before she was able to help Rita feed Lisa, who was back to being combative.
“This morning she is deliberate and nasty — even evil,” Rita noted.
Later that morning, Janis Johnson gave Lisa two capsules of chloral hydrate (even though Heather had said Janis had decided to stop using it a couple of days earlier). Rita gave Lisa another capsule at noon and managed to get Lisa to sleep.
In the afternoon, Rita described a constant battle to get more capsules into Lisa to make her drowsy. “I gave her four valerian root caps…I’m giving her Cal-Mag and orange juice at every opportunity.” But Lisa wouldn’t sleep.
“She is wide awake, on the floor, bouncing, humming, and talking. I will be getting a couple of protein shakes for her shortly.”

Something is missing in our information on this guy. Normally once someone completes OT1 the pressure is on to get them through at least OT3 as soon as possible. Called the "no interference zone". This does not go on for five years unless something is very wrong.
Possibly they knew about the SA and he has just been doing their version of justice all that time. Which does not include reporting it to the authorities or protecting the child. Sick.
Or he has done OT2 and OT3 and it went terribly wrong, as it often does.
Either way we will probably know more soon.
What is very apparent to me based on my personal experiences with auditing, through the upper levels; auditing does not mitigate serious traumas or mental defects. More than anything it aggravates them.
I get no joy from seeing yet another Scientologist crash and burn taking other innocent people with them.
