Claire Headley on the cruelty of the Scientology 'declare' checklist
We got a big reaction to the publication on Monday of a document we hadn’t seen before, an actual checklist for creating a notorious “suppressive person declare,” which indicts an enemy of the church.
One of the people we heard from was Claire Headley, who has testified as an expert on Scientology policies in court.
She asked us to spend some time with her in a YouTube video discussing the checklist and how it related to her own SP declare. Fun!
Please give it a look and let us know what you think.
And speaking of video, we wanted to tell you some more about tomorrow evening’s special “Group Therapy” episode.
For more than a hundred episodes now, a group of us, including some of our favorite Underground Bunker regulars as well as Scientology experts like Bruce Hines, Alex Barnes-Ross and Pete Griffiths, have been doing a weekly audio-only podcast where we discuss the news of the week in a fun setting.
We tape it on Saturday evenings and release it to paid subscribers on Sundays at noon Eastern. But recently, Substack made available a new live video format, and we thought we’d give it a try, announcing that this Saturday at 5 pm Eastern, we’d debut it, broadcasting at the same time that Scientologists happen to be arriving at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida for this year’s L. Ron Hubbard Birthday Event.
Well, we’re going to give it a go. But only after we made that announcement did we realize that the new Substack video setup is limited to only two hosts. So, for this one-off event, your Proprietor and Alex Barnes-Ross are going to try out the new Substack video platform, and we hope you join us, starting at 5 pm Eastern tomorrow.
You’ll need to be a paid subscriber and have the Substack app installed, but we really look forward to having you join us, and interacting with you on the Substack app’s chat feature.
Not a paid subscriber? You have two options. One, please consider joining the Bunker as a supporter who helps us keep this thing going. We recently did our taxes, and learned that last year, for example, we paid $1,130 just for documents from Los Angeles Superior Court in order to do our job covering Scientology litigation. This stuff costs money!
But what a result. We love keeping tabs on Scientology and what it’s doing. Just as an example, we recently covered in minute detail the attacks the church is making on Leah Remini’s lawsuit in an appeal of a preliminary ruling. No other news website even said a word about it, not the LA Times or Newsweek or Rolling Stone or any of the publications that usually keep a pretty close eye on Leah and her litigation. But we’re happy to keep you up to date on these kinds of details. So please, consider helping us out at only $7 a month.
The other option is to wait until Sunday, when we’ll post the video for everyone to see, but then you won’t be able to interact with us while we were live. Still, we want to share with you what was said.
Next week, we’ll continue our normal Group Therapy schedule with our panel of experts, and we’ll find other ways to experiment with Substack’s new video format.
Hip, hip, hooray!

Generalissimo Lafayette Ronald Hubbard is still dead. Film at 11.
If they actually followed the policy(ies) as written, how many staff and SO members would have to leave their position? How many members in general should not be getting audited?
