For you doubters, a new batch of totally true Scientology miracles!

After Impact magazine, our next favorite Scientology magazine is Advance!, which tries to sell upper-level services to Scientologists and keep them going up the ever-more-expensive “Bridge to Total Freedom.”

Historically, the best part of that come-on was a regular feature known as “OT Phenomena,” a collection of stories from Scientologists recounting the superpowers (they call them “OT abilities”) that they attained while unlocking the Operating Thetan auditing levels.

In past years these were some pretty wild miracles, often involving cars and driving, for some reason. But we miss those old days when you would read stories of Scientologists using their tractor beams to prevent auto collisions. Or even wilder stories of leaving their bodies and visiting friends, etc.

The OT Phenomena column has gotten a lot duller in recent years, and this latest set continue that trend. Are upper level Scientologists just not becoming the super heroes of the past? Or are they more self-conscious of making supernatural claims when the church itself is in such bad shape? What’s your theory?

Well, at any rate, here are the three ghost stories published in the new issue of Advance! And once again, our tipster has also thrown in some testimonials from the issue to pad it out. Thank you, correspondent!

An OT's Zone of Influence

As I've made my way up to the OT Levels, my intention has always been to help others around me. I have a relative who had health issues that left him plagued with drug and money problems for five years or so. It was difficult to get through to him and hard to convince him to confront anything related to his poor health and subsequent drug problems. After I started on OT I, he called me out of the blue and said that, a few days prior, he had woken up and his stomach problems had vanished. For the first time ever he said he wanted to sort out his health.

While I was on OT II, he was calling me three to four times a week to tell me about how things were going. When I was on OT III, he let me know that he was clean, had stopped using drugs and was doing so well. As of today, he is solvent, has steady work and even stated that he wants to understand more about Scientology and get connected with the Org! I totally attribute his change to my OT progress. — J.W.

A Change of Heart

Since 1995, my mother had been suffering from a traumatic loss on the Second Dynamic. I was in high school at the time, and she had never really been able to address her loss. As I studied Scientology, I would try to help her using the Tech but, for years, she refused to hear anything about it. While I was on New OT IV, she suddenly started telling me how she was thinking about that time of her life and that she really wanted to do something about it. In the following weeks, as I did the OT Levels, she started appealing to me for advice. Turning to me for help with her life was something that she had never, ever done before. — J.W.

Linking Up to the Supply Chain

I am a nutritionist who uses vitamins, minerals, herbs and wholefood supplements in my practice. I had been having supply chain problems with one obscure product. Several patients were waiting for it and I was stumped. While I was out of town doing the OT Levels, I had a spare moment, so I decided to go to a concert. There I struck up a conversation with a couple next to me. As it turned out, the man was the co-founder of a company that created this obscure product. Apparently, their normal distributor had stopped stocking it, but this man had his own brand that included the product I needed for my patients. So on this evening, while enjoying a concert, I made a friend who solved my supply chain problem. — J.S.

My sister and my father ignited my curiosity about Dianetics. I read the book and it saved me. Ever since then, Ron has been my stable datum.

And now, I have completed OT III. This is such an incredible achievement. I can't even describe in words what it means to me. Until this OT Level, I hadn't been aware of the sources of all those things I thought were a part of me. I believed there were logical reasons for my fears and stops — but no! They were just distracting me from the paths I wanted to follow. On OT III, I found answers to all my questions.

Little by little, my viewpoint opened up, enabling me to gain a higher level of confront, control and serenity about the future. I also realized these Solo OT Levels are a double gain for me — the case gain, and the gain I have as a Solo auditor.

Now I have a sense of calmness and fullness I never experienced before. I freed myself.

This has all proved to me there is nothing — nothing that LRH Tech cannot solve. And the Tech is developed on a perfect gradient so that all of the gains dreamt of — and even those unimagined — can be attained.

At the end of this part of the journey, I can look back and say that my fears are gone. The level of knowingness gained makes me understand my dynamics even more. I now understand what happened and what is happening around me on a new level. This all makes me realise that, as a Scientologist, I must push our goals even more — this is a task for everyone and it requires the effort of all of us to achieve it.

When I was 20, a friend introduced me to Scientology. After taking my first course, Overcoming Ups and Downs in Life, things started to change in my universe. As I went up the Bridge, I realized that my awareness was increasing. Scientology made me a better person every day. I went Clear and then the time came for the OT Levels. My wife and I decided to come to Saint Hill and it was the best thing I could have ever done. On the OT Levels, I really saw the difference between the MEST universe and the theta universe. It was like going from being blind to gaining the ability to see, to discover, to understand. I got the answers to all of my questions, including ones I didn't even know I had.

On New OT V, I understood what the case is really and the huge difference between me and it. I understood how I could live an OT and how I could fix the environment around me. Session after session, I started to handle every aspect of every situation in my life that was causing confusion.

I now understand how the universe works and how I can be at cause.

Since I started the OT Levels, the wins have been increasing — and all of them have been wonderful. The gradient is perfect. Step by step you reach your goal. As I progressed, I felt empowered with a great responsibility, and I really began to understand how important it is to be OT in order to clear the planet. Throughout the auditing, the amount of charge released became bigger and bigger. I felt lighter and lighter, as though heavy things were removed from a backpack I didn't even know I was wearing! Session after session, the calmness increased, and I could see more changes as the days went by.

For example, OT III removed barriers that allowed me to see clearly. Now my dynamics are so full of love, my environment is completely clean and negative things don't affect me anymore. That's because I see them and understand why they are like that. Knowing the reasons for my old reactions increased my understanding of the actions of others, too. I now know that problems are only situations to solve.

Looking back at OT IV, I still can't believe how much it changed my life. I feel free, determined and without doubts. The barriers of life are like a game to play — a whole new world is before me, with many new perceptions. It's like I've really woken up, and I feel full of energy and happy! I know that I will no longer be the effect of drugs, medicines and alcohol, and this is invaluable.

Now, as a New OT V completion, I can clearly distinguish a person's case when I interact with them. This ability is amazing for operating in this universe in a way that avoids getting into stupid games. With this new state of being, I'm also now aware of a greater responsibility for my dynamics, which means working to help others find their way to freedom. We don't do this alone, which emphasises for me how vital it is that we OTs work together for results that will bring more sanity to our world.

After going Clear, for the first time in eternity, I didn't have a reactive mind — I had done it! I felt bright, and shiny. However, you don't get to rest on your laurels as a Clear. Over the course of the last year, I have moved through the OT Levels, including New OT V.

After OT I, I felt a renewed compassion for the people I meet in everyday life. It extroverted my attention completely.

Then came OT II. On this level, I completely changed. I fancy myself a very technical kind of person; I've never been much interested in emotions or feelings. All this lifetime I have wondered, "Why did I do that?" Trying to figure it all out resulted in predictable wrong indications, confusion and frustration. The processes I ran on OT II put an end to that.

On OT III, I found out how we ended up in this situation and how to get out. That was a turning point because, after this level, I knew I would never be the same again. It answered my questions about how and why.

While on New OT IV, the rough edges of beingness were rounded off and I felt really good about myself. On this level, I expanded as a being all the way.

Then on New OT V, I had a cognition about identity, responsibility and me. And with that realization, an eternity's worth of suffering, self-abnegation and frustration poured out of me in the auditing chair. It was a very emotional moment.

Suffice it to say, I've changed mightily since I started my journey from preclear to pre-OT. Now as I leave Saint Hill, I will do my best to add theta to the universe.

And finally, there’s one more regular feature of Advance! magazine that our tipster wanted to bring to our attention. Each issue, the editors take a look at one of the world’s great cultural traditions or world religions. In this issue, it was the Minoans of the Bronze Age who flourished on Crete between about 3000 and 1100 BCE.

It’s how the article finishes up that our correspondent wanted to bring to our attention, when the magazine characteristically demonstrates the usual Scientology snobbery.

For all of their achievements, however, the Minoans were never able to find a path to true spiritual liberation. Three millennia after the eclipse of their civilization and the crumbling of the great palaces, a doorway — the Bridge to Total Freedom — would be discovered by LRH for the benefit of all Mankind. His breakthroughs of the OT Levels remain a gift, transcending all previous quests to discover and free Man's true potential.

Oh, that is too precious, isn’t it?
