Judge Olmedo gives Danny Masterson's team until Dec 7 to account for his missing guns

A judge today gave Danny Masterson’s lawyers until Dec. 7 to figure out what happened to guns that he’s yet to relinquish as required by a court order.
Shawn Holley’s associate Kate Mangels told Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo today that 10 firearms Masterson hasn’t surrendered haven’t been in his possession since before he was ordered to relinquish them in 2020.
“In 2020, Mr. Masterson surrendered all firearms in his possession to law enforcement pursuant to the protective order in this case. They’ve remained in law enforcement custody since that time,” Mangels said.
Deputy District Attorney Ariel Anson appeared in court for the defense.
Mangels said she saw the probation report regarding additional firearms that haven’t been relinquished.
“I can represent that they’re not in his possession, custody or control and have not been since prior to the 2020 order,” Mangels said.
Mangels said “a family member” of Masterson has been named a designee regarding the guns. One of the guns was destroyed in 2015, Mangels said.
“We are continuing to investigate and confer as to the location and status of those firearms,” Mangels said. She added: “Mr. Masterson doesn’t even know where these guns are located at this point.”
Olmedo said the issue is unusual.
“In 21 years, it’s not something that’s really come up very often,” Olmedo said, referring to her time on the bench.
Judge Olmedo said she hopes to resolve the issue on Dec. 7.
“We need to resolve this one way or the other, at least from our end here in court,” she said.
Masterson’s victims Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 3 attended the hearing.
Jane Doe 1 says she’s “really upset and scared.”
“It’s scary. I don’t know what to say. There’s no oversight,” she said.
Jane Doe 3 said, “We’ve got some unhinged crazy people who want us destroyed.”
