Marc Headley: More Scientology craziness from Emily Armstrong’s mom
Yesterday, we learned some reasons why new Linkin Park singer Emily Armstrong may be keeping quiet about her Scientology upbringing.
Her mother Gail Armstrong, it turns out, is not only a Sea Org lifer, but someone who has worked in the highest echelons of Scientology, and directly with its ultimate leader, David Miscavige.
Mike Rinder told us about how Gail was one of Dave’s speechwriters until she fell out of favor and was thrown in “The Hole” at Int Base, where Mike himself was also a prisoner.
Later, in 2015, Gail Armstrong was one of several of Mike’s former co-workers who denounced him in videos at Scientology websites because he had taken part in Alex Gibney’s documentary Going Clear. So yes, the fact that Emily Armstrong’s own mother has taken part in a classic Scientology “Fair Game” campaign of someone like Rinder would tend to explain why Emily is reluctant to discuss Scientology at all.
Yesterday, Marc Headley let us know he had even more information about Gail’s work in the Sea Org, with documents that contained examples of speeches she had written for Miscavige, and “debriefs” of problems in the Office of Special Affairs. He also sent over video of Gail giving a speech at the 2006 IAS gala in East Grinstead, England.
That’s right around the time Mike saw her in The Hole, and it would not be the only time that Miscavige had an inmate pulled out, cleaned up, and pushed out on stage to give a speech and then sent right back to the prison. What a wild tale she and her daughter Emily could tell.

The indoctrination of Scientology is a wonder to behold. I was a true believer for more than 46 years.
Hubbard’s system of brainwashing is one of the best. I’m sorry for Gail and her daughter Emily. However, every person makes choices. Emily is now dealing with some pretty intense blowback regarding her being in the cult and her euphemistic statement regarding Danny Masterson.
All this has prompted me to write a song for Tony’s substack subscribers. After all I was a rocker way back when.🎸🎶
