We’ve had a lot of fun recently talking to great reporters who have covered Scientology like John Sweeney, Mark Ebner, and Steve Cannane. So of course we wanted to check in with our man in Paris, one of the very best journalists we know, Jonny Jacobsen.
It was really fun to go back over his work to see how early he was to stories like David Miscavige beating his staff, and that his blog ‘Infinite Complacency,’ contains such amazingly detailed and well-researched material.
But we’re also indebted to Jonny for being the Underground Bunker’s Paris correspondent over the years. We can always rely on him for thorough and smart coverage that really explains the larger context of what’s going on over there.
Once again, choose your poison. You can listen to the audio podcast (above) or watch the video version at YouTube, which is embedded below.
Judge sets Dec 4 hearing in Leah Remini’s lawsuit
Judge Randolph Hammock has set an initial hearing date of December 4 in Leah Remini’s lawsuit against Scientology and David Miscavige.
In the meantime, Leah has submitted evidence that she’s served the defendants (Church of Scientology International and the Religious Technology Center) or at least attempted “substitute service” on the third defendant, David Miscavige, at his 6331 Hollywood Blvd address, the Hollywood Guaranty Building.
But we’ve seen how that goes. We expect now that CSI and RTC will make their initial response to the lawsuit, but Miscavige will send down an attorney to make a “special appearance” and say that Miscavige has not been served properly and should not be a part of the lawsuit.
Let the drama begin.
