So much money will already have been raised for this soon to be largely vacant conference center, given this was originally announced over 10 years ago at the 2015 New Year’s Event!

Of course back then the regs needed something to go after, given they’d just completed the Super Power building, and even the most die hard members might resist donating for a building that was already finished!

So no doubt as Tony says ‘construction’ will be dragged out for as long as possible. Venues like this routinely go up in 3-5 years (e.g The Kauffman Center in Kansas City), but just as you have to divide Scientology event attendance by 7, it’s probably a good rule of thumb to multiply Scientology construction time by about 3 or 4. So I look forward to attending the grand opening in 2040!

I think, don't fret Clearwaterites! They'll be gone in 40-50 years or less, and you'll get all this back.

You have XENU on your side!

Yes, at least it’ll be easier to repurpose than the building across the street with a giant indoor running circle and anti-gravity machines!

So shiny..

Where was Shelly?

Chuck Beatty's avatar

If I were Shelley, I'd be doing my CST/Archives duties, and catalogue ordering nice things.

And watch old movies allowed, and keep my stats up so I could get out now and then from the compound at CST/Archives. (Me, due to my deep cult bureaucrat paper pushing brainwashing, I equate duty at CST/Archives to being like the Knight in the Indiana Jones movie character guarding the Holy Grail in that cave scene. Archives Scientology staff are like that Knight in the highest loyalty to Hubbard. Shelly is THE most in the know human being alive working at the CST/Archives site, none EVER higher in Scientology history, than Shelley there.)

All I see is a large group of minions who will fork over huge sums to perhaps get their names on some publication and be granted some made up status like 'Super Duper Chair Builder' or 'He/She Who Paid for Carpeting'. I doubt that there will be any publicly available plaque that lists the names of the perhaps thousands of donors. There simply isn't room in the new Aud to list them all. I do bet that there will be a Tom Cummins Memorial Toilet in the Men's Room. And a similar one in the Trish Duggen Women's Room. Everybody else is going to get a line in some $cieno magazine and golden shovel sized in relation to their donation.

No Worries!

It's always a revolving door of rich new dupes, who eventually mostly wise up and quit.

Anyways, Xenu and superpowers just aren't selling, that's the ultimate savior of all people patiently waiting for the Xenu Hubbard cult quackery operation to fade.

No one, not even Miscavige, can make a sow's ear into a silk purse forever.

Tony, I have to disagree regarding Scientology growing worldwide. One part is growing in its influence. It has successfully exported its most famous policies to every totalitarian regime around the world. Fair gaming, disconnection, skillful lying, elitism, labeling people enemies for whistleblowing and grooming children. You can see that in America’s current administration for one.

The gaudy LRH mock-up is par for the course for the morbidly rich all over the world.

What a fake sense of achievement immortalizing one of last centuries greatest frauds.

This isn’t just a dig at Miscavige, coming shovel talk puns not intended. Genuinely just a couple observations from the photos.

I think that’s the first side profile picture of Miscavige I’ve ever seen. He’s got quite the beaky nose. Like a little freshly born baby bird is a really fancy miniature suit.

He’s also holding the shovel wrong with his right hand. I’m such a catty bitch, I know, but you can see he’s holding it with his palm down because he thinks it looks cooler than fingers up. But it just looks dumb because no one in the history of shovels or digging holes with them has ever held a shovel like that when using it.

So I guess I can say I’ve seen this little man from all angles now.

360 degree dork.

I can't believe they are passing up the opportunity to move a couple tons of dirt into their Flag Building, and start up a "Shoveling Cause Rundown" and master digging until the person reaches a "key out" of their "bank."

Chuck Beatty's avatar

I went through the Instagram Miscavige posts, and some have really poor photo shopping of him, one of him on the Freewinds, his left arm is clearly unnaturally re-sized.

They have sloppy editors these days who can't do it like their old kicked out quitter editors.

I don't know why that built mockup changes things, but in those pictures the hall looks ugly.

Geoff Levin's avatar

Ugly, is one apt description. How about ostentatious, tasteless, gaudy and archaic.

Really, it'd be so full of laughs, to troll protest around the Scientology Clearwater events when they eventually happen, in the LRH Hall.

1) stand on the corners with signs: XENU HALL PARKING ------------>

2) XENU HALL EVENT TONIGHT, ALL WELCOME: DON'T WORRY WE TURNED OFF OUR SUPERPOWER BUILDING EQUIPMENT, NO THREAT OF OUR CULT BEAMS HITTING YOU TONIGHT.

3) LOCALS WELCOME, DRESS NICE. WE WILL LET YOU LEAVE, WE'RE UNDOING OUR HOTEL CALIFORNIA IMAGE. FREE CAKE. ZERO BRAINWASHING, HONEST

Some levity, and self awareness joking would go a long ways.

there ought to be a new job: WDC (Watch Dog Committee Member) for Clever Self-Deprecating Humor PR Improvement.

Or IG (Inspector General) Lightening Up the Cult Image.

Just an impression from one crowd scene: the villagers chasing the hunchback into the cathedral.

Yes, I was 27 years in Scientology, deep into "thinking how could "we" seriously move forward in society, for real" mindset, as a Sea Org member, I was in the cult bureaucracts training, paper pusher cult Hubbard bureaucats training, thus thinking "how could we even be real in society."

So this permanent underdog, "hunchback" identity, this is always the case.

The fuller Hubbard image laid out, this "hunchback" if you think of Miscavige as that identity, which garners the public's sympathy, yes.

But the fuller identity of Miscavige, and then more importantly Hubbard, takes up a review that ought be done in simple public summary language, and an ongoing simpler book, for public consumption, I wish would be done.

This telling of Scientology/Hubbard's "side of the story" really fullerly and sensibly, and give Hubbard/Miscavige their "hunchback" due, , if that is your intent when you say "hunchback", I presume you put Miscavige as the hunchback, then how to simplify it down, to show the "hunchback's" dilemma in full, could and ought helpfully be done by someone.

"SCIENTOLOGY'S HUNCHBACK DILEMMA"

With Xenu and ghosts exorcism on their backs, type of thing. How does a space civilization new religion suffer through modernity?

I favor a XENU SWAG GIFTS AND INFO STORE to be attempted in Clearwater,

https://www.facebook.com/chuck.beatty.50/

That would catch multiple birds with one grab. (Have the history of the critical books on Scientology there, plus XENU SWAG to wear and act like the garlic to vampires, the XENU word is like an amulet against Scientologists due to their rules on the use of the word XENU which they cannot define publicly, for fear the word XENU triggers in people's minds all manner of horrible memories that would engulf a person and lead to their ill health and possibly dying, which of course it never has done that. And XENU word use instead, when the simply "caused the Wall of Fire" words are attached to XENU word, defines XENU even to the SCientologists who are not allowed to say or define XENU. By saying or writing XENU CAUSED THE WALL OF FIRE does triple duty, it reveals simply who XENU was, even to them, this makes sense, and they learn no ill effects occur to them, when someone tells them this about XENU. It erodes the "hunchback's" indoctrinated false fears: XENU CAUSED THE WALL OF FIRE

I wasn’t thinking of Miscavage as the hunchback. I was horrified by the crowd raising gold shovels in their self righteous zeal, possibly to utterly destroy their wog and SP enemy.

But thanks for a deeper insight. Your comments are always complex and thoughtful.

Makes me jump ahead into the future, and consider someday, some budding sociologist or religion comparative writer will consider doing a "New Religions Who Tried and Failed: Falling like Mini Roman Empires Delusional Collapsing"

LRH Hall is way over the edge of their surfboard into the future, they are too far ahead of their skis. They are going in reverse and can't admit it. They are going zero where.

---------------------------------------

Wait it out Clearwater, and all these halls and buildings and offices, and hotels, will return to you, someday.

Wait it out.

Clearwater has Xenu and society's disbelief and skepticism on Clearwater's side.

Xenu ghosts exorcism, and superpowers just ain't happening, in the Flag Building/Superpower Building. (Is the Sandcastle still used for the Xenu OT 4 and 5 or any other of the Xenu levels?)

Scientology is just too difficult of a quackery operation to sell the public.

Scientology can't outstep Hubbard's Xenu's massive amount of ghosts exorcism, nor can Scientology hide publicly the nonstop problems that their "superpowers" building ain't producing superpowers for anyone.

-----------------------------------------

Miscavige could stop disconnection with the stroke of a pen:

a) Order an Amnesty, cancel all past SP disconnection official pronouncements, state this is based on the fact that almost all past SP disconnection approvals were wrong (handling was insufficiently attempted, and admit SP declares were simply "out tech" and "non standard").

b) Order only new approval of SP/disconnection allowing ONLY 2% approved, and DENY 98% of new or resubmitted SP declare paperwork. Order a long gauntlet screening out all paperwork submissions and top approval ONLY by RTC AVC approval, never approve any SP declares unless massive amounts of proof that the benign "handling" steps were effectively tried and then order his RTC AVC to not approve any SP/disconnections in the future, or NO more than 2% ever again allowed to be "approved," thus stranglehold and stop SP disconnection.

That would instantly, in 24 hours, undo their disconnection extremist shunning.

------------------------------------------

That'd be milestone.

I wonder if Miscavige is up to that level of decision making.

Make friendly, and try on LRH's "Friendliest Place in the World" mantra LRH had way back for Flag in Clearwater.

It does mean to me, that it's on Scientology to stamp out their extremist shunning, and it could be done in 24 hours. (And AVC RTC just doesn't approve any SP declares, for 5 years or something, let the paperwork submissions pile up, or reject them en masse saying: Insufficient Handling steps effectively tried, REJECT.)

If he wants to get praise, declare an Amnesty, cancel all past SP declares ever, as out-tech/non-standard, because it is in fact true than in all cases of past SP declares there was insufficient "handling" effectively attempted. And for all future paperwork submissions before any future SP declaring is ever again allowed, force the paperwork gauntlet any new or resubmitted SP declares through auto-default-REJECT on the same grounds, "insufficient effecting handling" not being attempted. (This realistically could be ordered.)

That's be news, and it is needed, otherwise downtown Clearwater is going to continue to be "extremist shunning" ground zero forever. Who wants to come be shunned in downtown Clearater!

The downtown Scientology strategy will fail unless SP declaring is undone, and it could be undone immediately. No one thinks it could be, but it could be.
