Scientology held two bonus Patrons Balls in 2025, and we have the trophy list!
It’s long become obvious that under David Miscavige, Scientology’s original plan under founder L. Ron Hubbard of expansion through book sales and creating auditors has been jettisoned for a more direct approach: Prying donations out of the organization’s dwindling membership.
Each year in the fall, Miscavige throws a “Patrons Ball” in England to recognize his biggest benefactors, handing out trophies for reaching new levels of giving to the church’s membership organization, the International Association of Scientologists (IAS).
But now, a new Impact magazine has arrived, showing that handing out trophies only once a year is simply not enough for Dave.
It turns out that he held a separate Patrons Ball at the New Year’s event in Los Angeles (the first held at that event in five years), and then another one just a few weeks ago at the Dianetics 75th Anniversary event in Clearwater, Florida!
For our newer readers, this is what we’re going on about: All Scientologists are under intense pressure to donate huge sums for a variety of different projects and in a variety of different ways. But one of the most important ways to contribute is by donating to the IAS, which started out as a defense fund for the church in 1984. The IAS this past fall celebrated its 40th anniversary with its big yearly party under a giant tent at Scientology’s UK headquarters in East Grinstead, England. At a Patrons Ball, donors are celebrated who have reached a new cumulative goal in their total overall spending. This is called a “status,” and they have fancy names, like “Gold Meritorious” ($1 million) and “Patron Laureate” ($10 million). It’s like a game for rich people, who try to give enough each year to get to the next level. So many new faces appeared in this new issue of Impact Magazine from the New Year’s event in LA and the Dianetics event in Clearwater, we’ve had to divide the list in half. Today, we have the folks who have donated up to $750,000. Tomorrow, we’ll have the truly gigantic leviathans who have given $1 million or more.
