In 2016, the A&E Network had filmed and edited an eight-episode series about Scientology that has never aired.
We have always been curious about this show produced by Sirens Media and the person who was meant to be its presenter and star, Jamie DeWolf. So, in this limited podcast series, we’re talking to some of the people who were involved in it.
Last week, we talked to Phil Jones about the episode that was going to feature him and his wife Willie as they attempted to see their two children in Scientology’s Sea Org.
Today, we’re talking to Derek Bloch about how the Sirens Media series tried to help him see his mother, who had not seen him for several years because of Scientology’s harsh disconnection policy.
We are producing this special series as a thank-you to our paid subscribers, who have been so generous to help us out with our new Substack experiment. If you’re not a paid subscriber, we still have other podcast episodes that you can listen to for free. All of the podcast episodes can be found here.

These special podcasts are amazing. The interviews show just what went into the making of this series. I would love to watch the series. What an emotional roller coaster these people went through. I appreciate the fact that they were treated with compassion, not just used.
The series from A & E / Sirens on the attempts to reconnect, and Jamie DeWolf's great efforts with the series to pull it off, it's a shame like Derek says, that this didn't get sold to then air it still. I agree, from the sound of it, it still would be great to watch, wish it could be sold off and shown still.
