Our helper who dives into old newspaper archives is at it again, and this time he came up with an odd and interesting selection of items that, he points out, demonstrate how long it’s been that Scientology’s practice of “Fair Game” — retaliating against its perceived enemies with programs of harassment spelled out by founder L.
Maurice Johnson's 'biggest crime' was getting his money back. No wonder he was fair gamed.
Gaiman lied like a cheap rug. Disconnection was never canceled and fair game has always been a $cieno sacrament. Clams just can't say 'fair game' in any context. But that doesn't mean they can't kill the apostates kittens.
"The Scientologists maintain his remarks implied that they were a harmful organization. Mr. Johnson Smith denies libel." It is not libel if it is the truth.
As always with the Clampire, there are lies and damned lies and standard operating procedures. And all of them are the way $cientology rolls.
IMHO, the main issue is that the criminal organisation known as the "church" of $cientology has not been declared a vexiatious litigant, which it richly deserves.
A party which consistently screws with the legal process should be a vexatious litigant, even if they are only the defendant.
Anyway, Debbie Cook was sued.
In France we find:
UNADFI (victims' support association), sued by individuals and by the CC, first verdict in 2014
One of the individual leaders of Anon protests (but not anonymous enough) got sued for criminal defamation after the Co$ had found a prosecutor who took their complaint seriously for a minute or two. (The Anon was convicted in the first trial and the verdict reversed on appeal).
"Rev. Harvey Schmiedeke, of the church’s Toronto office, in Calgary to deal with the dissidents, told The Albertan he agrees with the policy “because it seems a reasonable way to approach the problem.” " -- I think I may have just hurt my neck after the whiplash that response gave me.
I remember when amnesty’s came out. A few people took advantage of those. It made us feel Hubbard was a magnanimous, saintly wise man. It was all for show and getting people back in so he could squeeze more money out of them. It was mostly for show and to shut up whistleblowers.
They sued him for a blazer and a couple pairs of trousers???? Sued? Like paying solicitors and court fees over his alleged uniform? I mean I know Fair Game is just that - everything is fair game - and all, but that is ridiculous by even Scientology's standards.

Good finds, all.

I did some research. Scientology has not brought anyone to court since the Time magazine court case. Their lawyers just rattle sabers.

They should have resolved the trousers through arbitration.
On the one hand the Scn cult craves religious recognition. On the other hand they act out with revenge and malevolence
