On August 4 we broke the news that Danny Masterson’s attorney Shawn Holley was attempting to delay his rape trial from October 11 to late January by saying she was too busy with Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer’s arbitration in Washington DC. That led to coverage in The Daily Beast and the Los Angeles Times when one of Masterson’s accusers, who goes by Jane Doe 1,
Very Good Judge Olmedo. Justice delayed is justice denied. I want to say that this trial will be fun, but with the seriousness of the crimes, it is very much in the public interest to run this case asap. It looks like Danny won't be skiing in Idaho or elsewhere this winter.
"And although Holley had claimed in her motion that Deputy DA Reinhold Mueller wasn’t against a delay, he had in fact filed an opposition to her motion on August 9."
This might be later than the motion that Holley filed, but somehow I'm still not surprised in the least that there is a contradiction.
That is awesome news! Interesting that an attorney would claim a DA wasn’t against a motion only to have them file an opposition. That was not a wise move on her part because it makes her look not very honest in the Judge’s eyes, the Judge will now be paying very close attention to other statements she makes. Oh whoops!
I am trying hard to figure out the next monkey wrench. The only guess is the cliche celebrity checking themselves into rehab at this point. If Danny does that, I have a feeling it, too, may fall flat because he would try to check himself into a narconon and therefore have no medical proof it was needed.
