I was in Scientology for 40 years. I made it to OT4, not by dedication but by push, from others. There's a lot of push and control in Scientology to keep moving, especially if you have money. They want you to pay for the next service and it's usually easier if you've finished the last one.
Still they have many checks and balances to ensure you are fully on board with SCN and going OT. A disaffected, disinterested parishioner is not going to make it thru the first sec check with or without money.
I disagree. A disaffected parishoner who is "under the radar" and has figured out that scientology's over-priced skin galvanoneter detects diddley-squat will often do the dance (andace any sec check easily)to protect his/her interests/friends/family in the cult, until he/she can ensure their safe escape from the cult...
I think you underestimate how nuts the COS goes if there is whiff of disaffection. I was there 20 or more years ago and they were nuts on the subject then. Any little comment is micro scrutinized when someone is trying to get or stay on the OT levels. Why do you think the OT community is tired and sick. They are trying to run their busy lives, make tons of money and live up to the impossible standards set by the COS.
I gave plenty of sec checks and I didn't see many people "acing" them. If they were doing that much acing, they were given a different sec check. Everyone has overts, you know.
