[Today’s guest post is by Phil Jones]
We were out running an errand just north of Toronto and thought we'd swing by the property Scientology bought for their proposed Advance Org (for upper-level auditing of OTs, ie. ridding yourself of Body Thetans), which was formerly the Hockley Highland Estates.
Scientology did a slick promotional video over 10 years ago about this 190 acre estate and its array of buildings. So far there hasn't been any evidence of renovations or occupancy at all since then, in spite of the years of fundraising on the promise of an Advanced Org for Canada.
In the early days after the property was purchased, my nephew, who is in the Sea Org, was posted there along with a few others. I think they were just cleaning things up a bit and mainly acting as custodians. He is now posted at the Sea Org building in Guelph, Ontario. It might be there is a property custodian there but it's pretty remote and would be a pretty lonely job. We didn't see anyone.
From the front drive you can't see much. We also drove around the area and you really can't see anything from the road, or access the property from anywhere else that's evident.
There is a well-known hiking trail called the Bruce Trail which runs on the east side of the property and apparently runs through a portion of Scientology's land. I'm sure Scientology isn't happy about that. I wasn't about to chance walking onto the property that way.
If it ever does open and you're there doing OT levels it might be difficult to "blow" if you decided to leave without permission. I think there's very little likelihood of it opening any time soon.
