I watched it again last year and plan to watch it again. As well as Aftermath, which I think is also on Prime.

Jan 2015 I had mentally left Scientology for three years, I was still under the radar. My brother Robbie went to the screening. I was thrilled that a movie was coming out exposing the fraud and crimes of Scientology. At the time I had no idea who Alex Gibney was. Since then I’ve seen many of his documentaries and he was an inspiration for my documentary Brothers Broken that Tony and Mike graciously agreed to participate. (https://www.brothersbroken.com) I had been good friends with Paul Haggis and Spanky Taylor while in Scientology. Then I disconnected from them when they spoke out while I was still in. I reconnected with them when I left. And I was now a Spy-entologist feeding Tony and Mike inside information on the cherch.

I’m so glad the Going Clear is accessible on Netflix. A who new generation can watch it. And those who still have not seen it can become aware of the toxic organization that still preys of those trying to get help to improve their lives.

The fact that Mike Rinder is continuing his blog while on chemo is nothing short of heroic. Close to a decade is definitely good enough. It was worth seeing and I will be re watching it now that I have recently re read the book.

November 16, 2005, Comedy Central broadcast South Park, Trapped in the Closet and a new era of exposing $cientology began. Yes, many others had exposed the crimes of the Clampire before that, but 'Trapped' was the first mass market telling of the Xenu story.

Everyone who came after that had a poorly drawn, potty mouthed cartoon to thank for the era. And ho boy, did media pick up on that meme. Ok, it really took a long time and many fits and starts, but the story of what $cientology did and continues to do got much more attention. And cockroaches don't like the light at all.

Going Clear is also available on Tubi. I’m in the middle of watching it now. That was the first thing I watched that took me down the rabbit hole and found the Underground Bunker. And couldn’t believe the abuses that people went through and still go through today.
