Should the prosecution gain a conviction this case, so far, screams loudly for a successful appeal as the judge is all over the road. What disaster Scientology was, is and will always be until they take away their tax exemption which NEVER should have been granted. “Do as I say and not as I do!”……
I disagree regarding a successful appeal. I don’t see that Olmedo is “all over the road.” She is striking a balance between allowing the witness to explain her state of mind and not allowing discussion of church policy. If the witness’s state of mind derived from her view of church doctrine, that is relevant. It’s no different if a Christian said they were worried about their life in the hereafter, and that influenced their behavior on earth. I think Cohen is getting too wrapped up in trying to avoid admitting anything Scientology related. But she’s a second (or third?) generation Scientologist. It’s unavoidable. It makes me think Miscavige is directing Cohen to some extent.
I love this judge! “Both sides tighten it up.”
We won’t be seeing any dancing Itos in this trial. Maybe down the hall where Weinstein finally has a jury seated after 6 days.
Cohen is an asshole.
It’s his job description.
