There’s another new judge in Leah Remini’s lawsuit against Scientology and David Miscavige, which is now on its third jurist before there’s even been an initial hearing in the case.
Judge Randolph M. Hammock has now landed the lawsuit after Leah peremptorily challenged the first judge named, Judge William Fahey, and then Judge Barbara Scheper recused herself because her husband, attorney David Scheper, has represented Scientology in previous cases.
So now Judge Hammock has it, and our reporter friends tell us they aren’t too familiar with him.
According to various legal sources, Hammock ran unsuccessfully for the bench in 2006, and then was victorious in 2010. He is a graduate of San Diego State University, and studied law at the San Diego School of Law.
By 2010, he had been admitted to the bar in 15 states, which seemed to impress the legal journals.
And we noticed that Judge Hammock has been moonlighting as a columnist, and we find that charming.

December 2019, Daily Journal: Ballot Designation Blues
July 2019, Advocate: Common Mistakes And Pitfalls In Responses To Requests For Production Of Documents
And we noticed that in the Daily Journal piece, Hammock made a sly reference to the movie The Godfather. Hey, the man has a sense of humor.
What does that mean for Leah and her lawsuit? We really don’t know yet, but we’re eager to find out.

Fun! At least this judge so far has a chance of being fair and impartial.....
