PODCAST: Looking back at the third week of testimony in the Danny Masterson trial
tonyortega.substack.com
The third week of testimony at the Danny Masterson trial in Los Angeles was a short one, but it still had its surprises. Jane Doe 2 was the third of the three women who allege that they were raped by Masterson, and her testimony was some of the most brutal in the trial. She was followed by a couple of corroborating witnesses — her former friend, actress Jordan Ladd, and her mother. Also this week we heard from a sexual assault trauma expert, Dr. Mindy Mechanic, and Mariah O’Brien, another Jane Doe 2 support witness.
The use of partial names is dangerous and stupid. I'd slap around any editor who permitted that to happen. I am unhappy that the front pages of the supermarket tabloids are not featuring the Masterson trial. More coverage is badly needed, but with the election and other 'cleb' trials underway, it appears that Danny Masterson is just not enough of eye candy to be on the covers. I would have thought that the $cieno connection would have been front page news.
Nice job Tony and Jeff, watch your back while this trial goes on and even after the trial ends. You two know how the Clampire rolls.
Settling in to listen to the podcast right now but am I the only one who thinks Masterson no longer looks quite as cocky as he has before? Perhaps this trial is wearing in him. It’s wearing on me to read this testimony, quite frankly, I can’t imagine being the accused person listening to this.
Tony, if you don’t know Emily D. Baker you should. She’s done some minor coverage on Masterson. She was an LA prosecutor and having you in her shoe would be amazing, not to mention she has tons of subscribers - like 600 thousand plus. Being on her show online would boost your Substack so much! Nor to mention allow for a fascinating conversation.

I thought the cops did a lousy investigation. Didn't understand why the psychiatrist was hamered so much when the defense has two ready to testify.
