There's a read to me feature? Meaning that the article will be read to you? If so, could you please tell me where to find that (didn't see it by looking at this article)? Sometimes, due to the timing of when these articles hit on the East Coast, I'm driving when they drop and have to pull over to read it. This would save me having to do that if I can have it audibly read to me, although it might get confusing whether it's the attorney or witness talking at some points.
I don't see this feature on Substack Reader - I'm on android. I also don't see this on substack.com but most laptops read text for you without downloading anything additional.
Highlight the text, right click, choose "Speech" > start/stop speaking.
Alternatively, on Mac, you can highlight text, right click, choose "services" > add to Music as a Spoken Track. This will add to the Music App on you Mac (like adding a song) which you can then play from any device with access to the Music App.
They offer approximately 100 million robot voice options lol
Perhaps you get that on the page. I'm on the android app and don't have that option that I can find but some of the journalists embed the audio in their story.
Like the chat feature perhaps it's not ready for androids yet.
I worship Tricia Vessey from afar. It takes a lot of bravery to relive those crimes and to testify to the facts in court. The Judge is in proper control of the trial and I too have to wonder why the second incident was allowed in. So far, I think Rapey is heading for that orange jump suit and that there is no present reason for any appeal.
When the judge asked the women to identify herself, would it be appropriate for her to offer only her first name (but fully willing to expand after the room cleared of reporters)?
I have great respect for Judges. I'm sometimes teased about even enjoying the occasional call to traffic court.
Hey Tony, I love that your doing this! I have a question for you. There is a woman who reads your substack to us, (Heir of justice)I love her for doing it because I am legally blind and cannot read your stuff, so I was going to her to hear about all that was happening. She always gave a shout out to you and your blog. Please let her continue for all of us who have a disability such as blindness that hinders us. Thank you.
I too wait for you to post and SO love that you give us such great reports and so many, you work hard and do such a great job. Just wanted you to know you are loved and appreciated.
Tony thank you so much for covering this case. Love the Substack format. My favorite part is the read to me feature.

Great, thanks a ton Muriel! I'll try that if I'm driving and another update drops while I'm on the road.
Brilliant thanks for the tip!

I love the nickname “Rapey” - nice one!
Thanks for this. Great read and looking forward to today

Indy I am on a iPad. I downloaded the sub stack and there is a read to me function.
Yes click headphones icon near the top of the screen. Game changer!
Here is my one contribution to the great work of our proprietor - the absurdly overpriced LA organic market is named “Erewhon” rather than Air One
