We figure by now you’ve seen some of the same stories we have about the strange situation in Memphis where a court hearing is scheduled today about a bizarre legal fight: Riley Keough, daughter of Lisa Marie Presley and granddaughter of Elvis Presley, is fighting to keep a lending company which may or may not actually exist from having her grandfather’s iconic home Graceland sold off in an auction on Thursday.
From what I have seen, and looked up myself on Florida’s business registry, the company suing to sell Graceland is a figment, and I bet they don’t even show up in court today. My first thought, like probably so many others, was Scientology. It’s funny how Scientology and scams go together like cereal and milk, so much that you don’t expect to see one without the other.
This sounds like the fake title transfer scam that has been on going for years. Someone fakes out a sale and tries to take the title of the property. Faking up a loan isn't that hard, but enforcing any liens or forfeitures is time and money intensive. Doing it on Graceland is either beyond stupid or maybe there is an actual loan involved. Will any of the plaintiffs show up?
The notary on the loan documents says she has no record of her notarizing that transaction! She doesn’t know how her name got on them. Notaries keep logs of all transactions, so I guess she’d know.
I was a notary about 40 years ago and had to turn in copies of all the transactions and turn them in annually to the accountant for the company that I worked for
That was my thought. I’ve seen an addict mother here in town do things like that to her children, it’s disgusting. Scientology is just another addiction to feed.

It will be interesting to see if any of the would be 'auctioneers' show up in court.

Yes, having been a notary, it is something that I kept records of
I think to keep your license, you have to, right?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Priscilla took the loan out and forged Lisa Marie’s signature.
