Was it something we said?
On July 30, we reported that Scientology had requested from the city of Austin, Texas for Guadalupe Street to be shut down from 2 to 3 pm on Saturday August 26 for the grand opening of the ‘Ideal Org’ renovation that has been delayed for years.
Sidewalk and alleyway closures were scheduled to begin up to five days before that date, culminating with the short ceremony and shutting down a major street.
We pointed out two problems with Scientology’s plan: August 26 is traditionally a blazing hot day in Austin, and process servers are still looking for David Miscavige. Did he really want to risk being seen in public?
Well, we weren’t the only one with concerns, apparently. Records show that on August 2, three days after our story, and the same day that Leah Remini announced that she was filing her new lawsuit naming Miscavige, Scientology cancelled its application with the city.
What’s wrong, Dave? Did you wilt from the heat, or was the prospect of being chased with court papers make you change your mind?
What a pity.
Speaking of Leah’s lawsuit, we’ve learned that it has been assigned to Los Angeles Superior Court Judge William F. Fahey in Department 69.
We couldn’t find a photo of Fahey online, and we haven’t had much time to look into his background.
But we know how many sleuths there are in the Bunker community, and so we’re looking forward to what you newshounds can dig up on him. Put your contributions in the commenting community at the dot org site!
UPDATE: Our friends come through. Here’s Judge Fahey…

Davey cancelled the opening. Is anyone surprised? No, not at all.
Clueless, cowardly, and clambering. Scientology's "international management team" i.e. Master Thetan McGhost, is exponentially expanding scientology's demise.
"Stats" for lawsuits, empty orgs, white collar criminals, and a mascot rapist are in a screaming "affluence"! These are just some of the notable "products" of this church, savior of this and all other sectors of the universe...
