Yeah I did that Saint Hill Special Briefing Course.

SPOILER ALERT

To save you some money, I’ll tell you the end: He still didn’t figure out how to make a Clear.

The BC gave lots of details and historical material. And it had status. And of course it was a Rube Goldberg construction with no end result.

I was SHSBC supervisor. The “Wall of Tapes” was interminable and students found a way, even back in the 1970s to speed up those reel to reel players. Full disclosure I only tapped them on the shoulder and had them remove the piece of tape or paper they had put on the capstan because someone else was going to walk by. The SHSBC was packed back then. Students showed up early just to claim a seat at the tape player. These days it’s history and that’s fine, it was never anything but an expensive history course created by LRH to begin with.

The Basics came out after I was gone, but I think they were Miscavige’s attempt to create a fake briefing course. He never did understand the scam he took over, LRH made the people participate in it by training them how to deliver his fakery. Since Miscavige didn’t ever understand auditing, he blew the whole training auditors part off for other money making schemes.

It’s a lot harder to keep people captive in your scam when they can’t actively participate.

I heartily agree that Dave never understood how the con he had seized control of actually worked. In fact, he is so uneducated and isolated from the world, he takes large parts of it seriously, and tries to apply out - a prime reason why his initiatives never work.

Val, where were you supervising? I was also a SHSBC supervicor in the mid-'70s with booming course rooms. ASHO/F 1975-1978

That flyer asks for trouble: those who are active now will naturally wonder why there isn't a Briefing Course today. If DM approved this piece, he slipped in his own s*^t.

Very good point. The briefing course was about the most extensive and professional Scientology training you get. And way above David Muttscavige’s ability to comprehend.

Thank you for clarifying the details regarding Doug. I know it can be tough to be a journalist and a reporter especially in regard to such delicate matters. I also know unfair expectations can be projected onto practitioners of your profession. I will look out for Doug's chat with you.

What's next in the $cienoverse? Buy a piece of his body, like the bones that some Catholic Churches venerate? Maybe see his holy eyeglasses or his size XXL underwear? Miscavige knows one thing, there is no substance to any of Lroon's screeds, so sell the legend. A legend they are still making up. Thou Miscavige does seem to have settled on an admission price.

Doug Kramer was a hoot and his youtube work will outlive him nicely. RIP my ASC friend.

“In 1962, to accommodate the growing number of students on the Saint Hill Special Briefing Course, Ron converted one of the Manor’s outbuildings to a Chapel.

It stands today fully restored in every detail…”

1962 was 60 years ago. Has the chapel not been in continuous use since then? Did they only use the converted stable or whatever outbuilding for a little while as a “chapel” before it fell into ruin from disuse and had to be “restored?”

What a MESTy promotion.

The 'restoration' was of course, a fundraising opportunity.

That first picture looks creepy.

Question, because we have SH folks here, about it: Is the blanket on the desk chosen/designed like that for a reason? E.g. does it have some purpose in Scientology?
