So an Arbitration Clause signed even by a minor, beats fairness and justice by our laws.

Something is wrong with our legal system not to defend fairness and justice vs unjust Arbitration Clauses.

Arbitration beats justice? That's what our legal system is allowing?

I think that there were recent changes to US law that allowed easier lawsuits against any 'human trafficker'. The CO$ needs to answer for past and current 'trafficking'. There seems to be a bit of a backlash against several types of 'employment contracts', like forbidding certain types of similar employment in the same industry. I mean, if Subway can stop you from making Subs at any other sub shop, what is next, you can't flip burgers at Burger King then work at a McDonalds?

There are many reasons for the Judge to look into the Arbitration itself. But no hiding under 'religious' bull shite. Contract law does beat 'religious' shite. If only a judge would cross that line.

The service is a huge win, but I agree that the lawyers will now triple down to do everything in their power to see that Miscavige never sees a day in court.

After his only deposition on record iv 1990, his court appearance would be a clown show anyway.

Whew. Such dodging, such stalling, such equivocation. I noticed he wouldn’t name LRH as the person he was running comms for. Reminds me of the mind games Masterson’s defense team was playing by on the jury.

I have a question....if Sea Org contracts are signed by kids under the age of 18 years old, are they valid? I don't think it's legal for a child to sign a contract but I could be wrong.

The billion-year Sea Org contracts are not the ones at issue in this case. They are talking about standard service contracts that all Scientologists sign for any course or auditing or any other service in the church. Every Scientologist signs dozens of them. And they are only pointing to ones the three plaintiffs signed as adults.

Oh okay, that makes so much more sense. THANK YOU for clarifying. And, while I have you, THANK YOU for all your hard work! It's not easy what you do and I know we are all grateful for you. Your knowledge, never ending research and hanging out in LA courtrooms not only keeps us informed but the more facts that get out about the abuses of Scientology helps those at the 'church' escape because they have more information and the truth. THANK YOU!

Hey, thank you very much. That means a lot, it really does.

Good to know!

I think you could be right, Cathy! But if their parents also agreed to their child’s signing up, co-signed, gave parental permission, that could be a problem. I wonder what the current legal situation is on this.

I wonder as well and if their parents did agree and co-signed then that brings up a new whole set of questions. Thanks for the response!

It seems like a text book example of an unconscionable contract, with added intervening sexual assault claims that could not have been foreseen. But there are reasons why I stopped practicing anything close to civil law. So what do I know?
