Thank you Val for your story exposing the psychotic activities hidden from view from clueless cult members like me. In tha late seventies I was deeply involved in Scientology and I was considered a celebrity musician. I did not knows that all this secret illegal stuff was going on. Nor the fact that an alcoholic wife abuser could be protected because he was a full time student.

The true results of Scientology are the exact opposite of what Hubbard stated as his goal. “It’s a world of insanity, lies and gaslighting.” Val’s story is a testament to that.

Celebrities were treated differently from the start. I knew of you and was one of the people making sure people like you were undisturbed. No one cared what happened to me.

Val,

Yes, I had no idea how staff and SO were actually treated. And the manipulation of celebrities is much more covert. That being said what led to my breakdown was strong gaslighting and injustices. It was no walk in the park for me.

Geoff, celebrities, were treated differently but they had their own hell. They were forced to promote when they didn’t want to. Differently didn’t mean better. There used to be no such thing as better in Scientology.

If anyone was wondering how Masterson got away with rape, now you know. It’s built into the DNA of Scientology that abusing women is allowed and that it is always the woman’s fault the man acts that way.

And the criminal organisation known as the « church «  of $cientology has nothing except hugely expensive legal processes. Correction is out of the question for a radicalised group, laughably dedicated to nothing more than funnelling money into off-shore bank accounts.

Valerie, thank you so much for writing about what it is like inside the mental prison. I’m glad you are living well. The time where the Co$ losses its ability to hurt people is long overdue. Stories, such as yours, which demonstrate the need for the Co$ to have the indulgence of the legal system taken away, are important steps on the path to achieving that.

Is it wrong of me to want to hunt down 'Mark' and kick his ass? Val, your writing is wonderful and your take on the world of $cientology headquarters is wonderful. The Clampire is guilty of enabling a wife beating scumbag. I wonder if Valerie is eligible for some sort of sex based lawsuit? Given all she has said in her writings, I doubt that she would start any lawsuit. Moving on is a great way to disrespect Miscavige and his Empire of the Clams.

I don’t have the time or the inclination to go up against a billion dollar lie factory at my age. Living well is the best revenge.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Mark has already had his ass kicked, probably multiple times. I firmly believe in the laws of Karma. Everyone reaps what they sow in life. When I was involved in Scientology I met a number of low class losers who would pressure and intimidate others. It's the kind of people you'll find in a mind controlling and money making cult like Scientology.

Dearest Val, I feel greatful you are no longer in Scientology and sharing your life stories. It breaks my heart you were blamed for Mark's behavior and the deviant policies of LRH. Unconscionable, if you ask me. Please keep writing and healing. I love you. 💜

Excellent article, Val. These stories are what is making a difference in the way the world sees this corrupt organization and, I believe, it will suffer the same fate as other abusive cults and people. Thanks for sharing this with us and so glad you are out and living your best life.

Valerie Ross is a true survivor. I was involved in Scientology in Toronto from 1981 to 1988. To this day I'm kicking myself for being involved for 7 years. I should have realized within the first year when it was time to leave. In regard to the winter season in Toronto, I always say that the only thing I like about winter is when it ends. Similarly, the only thing I'll celebrate about the cult of Scientology is its demise.
