This is a STRONG woman having lived with and survived to tell - and see this through- to court. Not many women have the kahunas to do so.. I was a Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence victims counselor. She’s just amazing! If you see her, tell her your readers or viewers or whatever we are - well we’re pulling for her.
I was once transcribing a recording of a victim being beaten that she had recorded on her phone. As I transcribed it, I subconsciously kept pushing my chair further and further back from the keyboard. That is how this testimony makes me feel.
Thank you for putting us right there in the courtroom. I know the defense attorney is just doing his job, but I’m impressed that she is holding her own so well.
I can’t wait to hear the video report from today. I just love how effective and no-nonsense Judge Olmedo is! I am frankly crushing on her at this point.
I don’t really understand what Cohen is accomplishing here- if I was on the jury I would be far less concerned about the exact wording of what JD1 said when to which officer than about the graphic testimony, the pressure from lawyers and Scn to make everything disappear, all the documents- there is still so much to cover but this is not a simple “he said, she said” situation and with the immense pressures involved, it is wholly understandable that JD1 was not immediately forthcoming about each detail to the police.
Based on what I’ve read was Cohen’s approach today, he seems to be badgering the witness. Perhaps it didn’t come off that way in court. But it felt that way reading it.
Thanks, Tony, for yet another great report. You make it feel like your readers are sitting in the courtroom with you. I agree with woggle45; I don’t understand what Cohen is trying to do. He asks this poor woman graphic questions over and over while driving her to tears. If I was on the jury I wouldn’t be very impressed by that. JD1 is a very strong woman. No matter how many times Cohen asks her the same question she gives him the same answer.

I wish the defense would leave her past alone. When does she get to drag in every. Single. Thing. In his past.???
