Neil Gaiman was at least OT 3 and possibly on OT 4. Translation, (Tony's excited explanation of OT 4 is a good one).

OT 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are the five exorcism steps of Scientology, getting rid of (supposedly, since really in fact this exorcism is instead snipe hunting, chasing imaginary "souls" which are messed up, and eliminating those souls from infesting one's human body and stopping the leakage of "case" (bad karma) those souls were leaking onto one---which is a huge reason for doing the exorcism in the first place, to eliminate the "case" leakage from those surplus souls --- "body-thetans").

It means Neil has done the kookiest exorcism part of Scientology, the surplus souls exorcism major steps OT 3 and possibly OT 4.

Tony is probably cutting edge media spokesperson for interpreting Scientology in language that could become the prevalent way Scientolgys major quackery pseudo-therapy and exorcism are spoken about, to somehow change the way Scientology is even referred to.

Right now, 2022, in history, Scientology's (rather Hubbard's, since he indoctrinates Scientologists so deeply how to even refer to the Scientology quackery and theory in words Hubbard laid in cement how to refer to the key parts of Scientology, it's so hard to change how the Scientology parts are even spoken about, due to Hubbard's insistence and indoctrination in how to talk about Scientology's theory and parts).

But the "auditing" word of Scientology ought be referred to as quack pseudo-therapy.

The "OT levels 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7" ought be referred to as exorcism.

The quack pseudo-therapy that is "warm up" levels up to Scientology's "Clear" level, is mostly pseudo-therapy aimed at a person's "this life time" troubles.

Then "Clear" hits heavily into past lives trauma.

OT 2 Tony's pretty good at explaining.

OT 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 need to be simpler neutrally described as exorcism of the surplus souls that Xenu dumped onto earth 75 million years ago.

Then OT 8 is some more past lives pseudo-therapy aimed at one's whole viewpoint one's "case" from the beginning of time to this instant, a huge overview pseudo-therapy step.

--------------------

For total nerds about Hubbard's own "case" and what is in Hubbard's final "case" folders, which I don't think Marty Rathbun, nor Miscavige, nor anyone's really reviewed properly, from a "Piloting" and research theory rules, and Hubbard wrote for the "LRH Tech and Research, Piloting and Compilations" branch of Senior C/S Int office, and Bruce knows a huge amount of the LRH "RTRC" branch history, the point is LRH wrote rules how to delve into what would be the "next" OT levels.

My guess is what would be next, is delving deeper, further back into past lives, and past times pre human bodies, way way way back, when "case" might have been being accumulated back when a soul was pre human, accumulating case.

LRH in the 1950s lectures ,mentions that he chose to limit "auditing" (the quack pseudo-therapy) to humanoid "case" difficulties.

What that implies is that the "case" that a soul might have accumulated WAY earlier in the pre humanoid body eras of time, way way way back, were what the "RTRC" Branch, which was and still is to this day, under the Senior C/S Int Office at the Int Base, what they would logically have been held responsible to "research" would be study LRH's final years, and all other years of LRH's "case" folders, and anyone else in Scientology's "case" folders, where LRH or other Scientologists delved into their pre humanoid time eras as souls, and see what "case they were picking up way way way back, and develop some kind of "this lifetime" processes, to get a Scientologist to delve that far back, and try to see what "case" is there, and how to eliminate it.

And of course turn this all into a paying service, and paid for OT level.

That is frankly something I have never heard Marty (and people fail to understand Marty was NO "tech" person, Marty was a nobody on "tech" lines, he only had power, I hate how anyone's called Marty some "great" auditor, he only had status, but wasn't some Scientology "tech" theoretical" genius guy, Marty is just a whole lower level "auditor' compared to someone like Karen de la Carriere or even to Trey Lotz).

This is weeds, no one will appreciate what I just wrote, but the "LRH case folders" contain the clues to what "case" LRH would himself have eventually tried to research into.

LRH was till stuck with body-thetans difficulty at the end of his life though ,and never got around to the lower ago "case" in the pre humanoid body "case" eras of the soul's way way way longer ago era of time existence in all time and space.

If one continues and uses "case" as the central theme how to interpret all things that any Scientologist is doing in Scientology, the "case" elimination, or in regular terms, probably "karma" elimination, so that a soul isn't reactive to their past karma and past "case."

That's all Scientology is.

It's a "case" elimination practice, a paid for pseudo-therapy/past-lives-pseudo-therapy/exorcism-of-surplus-souls-which-leak-their-bad-karma-"case" onto one.

I've given years of thought to this and can talk theory of Scientology, and hope someday it gets simplified so the public get a simpler view of it all.

I can appreciate wallowing around and making swamp-angels in the weeds even if I can't properly parse every blade. Thank you for writing this. Pseudo-exorcism as a snipe hunt is the most deliciously apt analogy.

In Dec 75 in the final 2 weeks of the year, I was a brand new Sea Org member at Flag in Clearwater.

I was in a chain of Sea Org members moving the "case" folders (paperwork folders of sessions of the Scientology pseudo-therapy quackery), and I happened to be in a chain moving some of Mary Sue's "case folders."

Later I trained in "Folder Error Summary" paperwork procedures of Hubbard's to review people's past quackery pseudo-therapy, by reviewing the paperwork kept by the pseudo-therapist ("auditor" is what Scientology calls the quack pseudo-therapists that do the Scientology pseudo-therapy).

So, my thought in hindsight today, is what Bruce thought about Mary Sue's full "case folders" content, and did he know who had done Mary Sue's past "Folder Error Summaries" which are the paperwork that a sit down separate Scientologist does, reviewing ALL of a person's "case folders" and then lists out the things that are "errors" and "summarizes" the errors, in the "FES" (Folder Error Summary) report.

Did Neville Potter do Mary Sue's "FES" or did CMO Int "Senior C/S Int" people, like did Bruce or did Sue Walker who was in the Senior C/S Int sub unit, they Bruce and Sue, and Neville, (or even did Leslie Potter, who also lived with Neville in Mary Sue's house at Lost Felix), who did Mary Sue's "FES" and can Bruce mention any details of that. Or, I forgot to ask, were there any RTC level tech people, like Hara Klein, or Hansueli, or Heidi Stahli, who had input into the FES of Mary Sue's "case" folders, and they did the tailor made False Purpose Rundown questions? Was Hansueli the main guy doing Mary Sue's FES and FPRD stuff tailor made questions?

Questions I have, would be did she get thru OT 5, and OT 7, and did she obviously believe in past lives, and how'd she run as far as body-thetans removal. Was Neville doing her OT 5, and was Neville C/Sing for her OT 7, or did she even get to OT 7, and OT 8? Did Leslie or Neville do Bruce's after session "exams" on Mary Sue? Leslie was an old time Class 8.

Nicki Merwin was Mary Sue's Communicator in the final years, a close in the know person for daily life of Mary Sue! Skip Press has loads of history about Nicki Merwin before she became Mary Sue's Communicator. Mary Sue had Nicki, and LRH had Ken Urquhart. But likely Nicki was even closer to Mary Sue than Ken was to LRH. (I so wish Ken was more interested in LRH's life, and closer to LRH than I found Ken to be. Ken's written extensively of his time leading up to being with LRH.)

Thanks.

IMPORTANT: Bruce read MSH's case folder "case supervision" from LRH to Neville Potter, of what to audit on Mary Sue, relating to body-thetan stuff, and that was then compiled into some of the NOTs HCOBs. Very important, meaning LRH's C/Sing NOTs stuff on Mary Sue, his instructions were compiled into some of the NOTs HCOBs, becoming todays training theory writings by Hubbard that all NOTs trainees (the exorcists of Scientology, the Class 9 exorcists of Scientology at the NOTs Auditors, the Class 9 auditors) study today!

LRH's exorcism instructions for Mary Sue's "case" handling, have become common practice for all Scientologists doing similar exorcism Hubbard stuff today, on each other.

Very important firsthand info from Bruce, for many reasons. a) It's an example of how "compilations" work was done, starting with a specific Hubbard instruction for exorcism quackery, to it becoming finally common exorcism practice for all Scientologists. b) It shows LRH still caring about Mary Sue, to ensure she got what Hubbard considered the "best" and latest "help" from the Hubbard quackery, so he did care about her.

Hubbard's soul theory how deeply he believed in it, compared to Mary Sue's believing in it, would be revealed by the specifics of what Bruce witnessed while Bruce did the "auditing" (quackery pseudo-therapy and exorcism) on her.

Regarding Mary Sue, I think the most powerful thing she wrote, and which was included as the SOLE Mary Sue writing allowed in the first edition Red Volumes, is her writing called "The Way Ron Works."

It is worth reading "The Way Ron Works" to get how deeply she was devoted to Ron.

Tony, the "entities" in the 1952-3ish demonstration "auditing" "session" where Mary Sue is doing the quack pseudo-therapy on LRH, there's some more study needed into them. For sure these are entities, like you say, body-thetans, pre theory stuff.

But it would take one to tediously go through ALL of those years' lectures and look up all things related to those entities LRH talks about. (If we had "ALLSIR" the computer program that exists in INCOMM, I know, I used it, I updated it in INCOMM that was my job for a year or so in INCOMM, to keep the ALLSIR "libraries" up to date, and tested to see they worked---using the ALLSIR search is just a big data base of ALL of Hubbard's transcribed lectures and writings, all searchable---if we had that out here, we could look up ALL instances where Hubbard spoke or wrote the word "thetan" "entity" or whatever word(s) we wanted to see every context of Hubbard's using that word. I did literally MONTHs of that type of searching, when I was on the research project I was on. I priorly had been a Flag Course Sup and had 5 years of course room helping trainees "word clear" everything non confidential (non body-thetans/Xenu) from Hubbard.

The "entities" 1953 tapes wasn't confidential, so even I came across it in 1976 when I was in the Flag course room, and other trainees brought it up and shared it, to ponder over.

In that time era of lectures, I think Hubbard mentions the Hindu "chakras" also, and it seems Hubbard was thinking of these things in the human body as more than the Hindu chakra, and thinking it could be a distinct "soul" like entity all it's own.

It's all bogus to me now. I'm studying Buddhism a bit, and the American Buddhist monk Bhikkhu Bodhi's translations of Buddhism and I haven't started, but the translation of the Abhidhamma by Bhikkhu Bodhi apparently gets into all kinds of "deva" stuff of Buddhism, which I'm discovering Hubbard must have stumbled across himself, and borrowed or cross fertilized Hubbard's Scientology "thetan" related soul theories.

Keeping the dog after Mary Sue died, that likely was Ginny Hof. There was Hett Saunders, Neville and Leslie Potter. I heard Hett passed away.

So it would have come down to Neville, Leslie and Ginny.

Ginny was seen a lot in the 2010s shopping around that region of LA. She was even spotted going into the HGB once.

Ginny was my guess as to who kept the dog. It'd be interesting to know what happened to Neville and Leslie.

I know and worked in ASI in the years that Neville visited daily, or several times a week, and picked up the "In Basket" communication to Mary Sue, and Mary Sue had an "In Basket" in the ASI communication center, with her initials, "MSH" on the basket, I saw it with my own eyes.

Leslie Potter, who was a registrar (sales person) for ASI in the years I was there, 1992-1995, Leslie berthed at Mary Sue's house, I know, Leslie told me, and it was common knowledge in ASI Leslie, and Neville, and Ginny and Hett, all were the MSH "keepers" and lived at MSH's house.

We all knew that at ASI. MSH was complicated, she holds great respect to those that were pre Bruce's years in Sea Org. I knew of MSH from LRH's writings, I joined Sea Org in Dec 1975, and even wrote a couple despatches to MSH for "Diet" consultation, since Mary Sue was known to the Apollo vets to be somewhat into ensuring the crew having healthy food, and when I was briefly the "head" of the voluntary "Mess Members Council" (Flag crew diet/food complaints/planning/consulting/feedback meeting that was supposed to be held weekly, we did it once a month), some of the other Apollo vets encouraged me to write and ask MSH about the Pritikin diet and it crew ought be shifted to it, she said encouraging things about the diet, but LRH had said other mainline advice as to the crew's diet, which is pretty much what is followed to this day, what LRH said vs what MSH said).

Leslie and Neville I think both were Flag auditors at Clearwater before becoming part of MSH's final "entourage."

It should be known, that during the Apollo years, MSH did have her own "MSH Office" entourage.

People who were Int Base staff will even remember Don Bateman and Don told me on the Apollo he for some years was in MSH's Office.

On the Org Board, if people are familiar with it, there is always the LRH Office, which is Dept 21. On the Apollo, the "Ship" org board did have the tiny MSH office, and Don and possibly later Nicki Merwin were two that were in the "MSH Office" (Nicki also being in the Guardian's Office and being Mary Sue's communicator, office asst in effect, screener/filtrer of traffic to and from MSH to the Guardian's Office worldwide, Nicki was in a very powerful in the know position. Kind of like Shelly Miscavige was to David Miscavige in Shelly's years.

The "communicator" position to a head leader in the top bureaucratic departments and "orgs" was always a key sharp person able to "think" like their boss thought, or like in the case of Ken Urquhart, Ken due to him being the LRH Personal Communicator, Ken had so much much more to contend with.

The history of the bureaucracy of the movement, I gave decades of thought to its history and the personalities in the positions, and the transitions of the major bureaucratic parts were all Hubbard based.

L. Ron Hubbard wrote so much, one gets lost in the details, easily, so it's always good to come back to what is the subject.

The "tech" of Scientology is the quackery pseudo-therapy and the quack exorcism, that is the core of Scientology.

The "administrative" bureaucracy stuff and history, all frames how the Scientology quack pseudo-therapy and exorcism is to be practiced and sold by the Scientology followers.

I was an "admin" person, having failed at becoming a proficient "tech" quackery person, in my career in Sea Org. I was mainly staff training, is how I overview my career in Sea Org. (I word cleared more word chains on Sea Org history than anyone alive, if anyone knows what that means, and since leaving Sea Org, the history and meanings of all the positions and people who held the positions, still fascinates me, but it really is merely the details of the Hubbard pseudo-therapy/exorcism cult bureaucracy is all it really is.)

the problem for the Hubbard offspring, making money off Mary Sue's house, and the transfer of inheritance, etc, that seems a moral problem.

It's to me immoral for anyone, lawyers, offspring, to be making money off the Hubbard scam.

The whole Scientology operation and the money it scams off the rich Scientologist dupes, that money is dirty money.

Best to launch totally away from Scientology, and make one's income clean, away from the Hubbard scam, and not expect money from the Scientology/Hubbard inheritance.

It's unclean, immoral, in human history, and all of the income coming from Scientology, is coming from the dupes duped wrongly.

This and the written piece are mesmerizing... I've really wondered about her in general (honestly, how ride-or-die can you get?!? So hardcore) but most especially about this period of her life. I can't say I admire her, but there's definitely a spark of mad redheaded reclusive widow who is way too into her pets plus bonus breast cancer game-recognize-game feeling there that I can't quite shake whenever she comes up. There's just way too much in common on the surface for me to not lap up all available details.
